Melody's Taming Calculator helps you maximize your Animal Taming gains in Ultima Online.
It does so by calculating your best target range and your good target range and displays these two lists for you. |
Highlights:- Automatically gets your current taming/lore/vet skill if it is used with UOAssist.
- Shows what's best to tame (with retame) and what's good to tame.
- Can be set to stay on top of your UO client.
- Calculates lots of numbers based on your current skills (stable slots, min and max for vet).

How do you get the best taming gains?
Nothing is proven, but the theory is that the best thing to tame is approximately 10 below your current taming skill.
That is all good and fine, but even with the tables published around on the web, it can be a little difficult to figure out what to tame, especially if want to take re-tames into consideration. |
So how does Melody's Taming Calculator help me?
Melody's Taming Calculator works using this principle. So from your current taming skill it will find all the animals 5.0 below your current taming skill. These are the best to tame.
The rest that falls between the low and high numbers are recommended as good to tame.
| | Often it can be hard to find a perticular animal in the best group, so if there is an abundance of one from the good group, go for that.
Remember the more creatures you tame the better. 10 good ones is better than 1 best. |

So is Melody's Taming Calculator UOPro?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to get UOPro status for 3rd party applications currently.
Using the program is entirely at your own risk, and we cannot be held responsible for any problems you might have with your computer, your account or whatever else.
Melody's Taming Calculator was designed to be in the UO spirit. There is nothing that this program does that couldn't be done with a piece of paper. It just makes the task easier for you. It does not do anything to gain your skills. |

So then it must be detectable, right?
Melody's Taming Calculator does nothing to the data steam of the UO client. It completely relies on UOAssist for all it's information.
There is no legal way OSI could detect that you are running the program. | | If you are interested in how you can hook up your own Delphi program to UOAssist, I have released the code from Melody's Taming Calculator that does this as OS (Open Source).
The project is released on Sourceforge, which is the largest OS community on the net.
